T. Francisco, Shelby County Medic al Examiner, will rule today on the cause of death of Morgan 'Morge' Scott, of Tupelo, who was found dead early yesterday morning in a city jail cell. Mr. Scott, arrested on a drunkenness charge Thursday, was discovered by two officers lying on the floor in his cell. They attempted to arouse him without success.

Police requested the autopsy. Mr. Scott, who was 48, was a farm laborer. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Bethel Baptist Church near Belmont, with McGrath-Rasberry Funeral Home of Tupelo in charge.

Oct. 6. The New Hampshire Supreme Court Friday unconstitutional a law allowing sweepstakes funds distributed to parochial as well as public schools. The 4 to 1 decision voided a law passed last June by the state The state court said the law violated the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, which provides; for ation of church and state. The original sweepstakes law, passed in 1963, provided for sweepstakes profits to bel distributed to public schools on a "flat grant per resident pupil," basis.

About 127,000 public school children in New Hampshire are currently aided by sweepstakes funds. The new law would have added an additional 30,000 parochial school chitdren. Mrs. Clarkson's Death Ends Link With Era Of Elegance Mrs. Martha Fontaine at Memphis Convalescent Home.

Before and after his years in Russia, Gilmore was widely known for his witty news stories on the lighter side of life, and even in Moscow he wrote with a light touch at times between the grimmer episodes.

He had worked as usual in the London AP bureau Friday before going to his home in the English countryside at East Grinstead. He was stricken with a coronary thrombosis in the late evening. Gilmore is survived by form- his Russian-born wife, the Tamara Chernashova; three daughters and a son. He was born in Selma, and christened Eddy Lanier King Gilmore, all of them family names.
