Alvin ISD Athletes celebrated at AIMS Awards (2024)

Alvin ISD Athletics rolled out the red carpet and celebrated the best of the best student athletes for the school district in the Inaugural AIMS Awards, May 13 at Iowa Colony’s Liberty Alumni Hall.

The nominees were chosen not only for their athletic ability, but for their character on and off the field and how well they represent the pillars of AISD Athletics: integrity, servant leadership, commitment and culture.

Fox 26 Morning Anchor Nate Griffin served as the master of ceremonies for the historic event, helping the athletics department honor the students, coaches and staff members who made major contributions to AISD Athletics.

Alvin High School’s Maddy Kincaide captured both the district’s Girls Basketball Player and the Come Back Player of the Year awards, while Yellowjackets’ hurler Cooper Williams was a double winner as well, taking home both the AIMS’ Baseball Player of the Year and Male Fan Favorite awards.

The State 4A Champion Iowa Colony Track and Field teams swept the Female and Male Sports Team of the Year categories and Pioneers’ head football coach Ray Garza was honored as the high school coach of the year.

AISD Athletics also presented the Integrity in Leadership Award to Superintendent Carol Nelson for her unwavering support and positive influence on the AISD community.
